Earn While You Serve Series: Entrepreneur Education for Women in the Military, Military Spouses & Veterans
You answered the call, now it’s our turn to step up!
Additionally, according to a 2019 report by the National Women’s Law Center, female veterans may also face unique challenges related to caregiving responsibilities, access to healthcare, and discrimination in the workplace.
While there is no single course or educational program that can take away all of these sacrifices and challenges, our Earn While You Serve courses will provide basic and comprehensive training in entrepreneurship and starting an online business.
Women in the military, military wives, and women veterans face unique challenges in the civilian workforce.
Discrimination, lack of access to resources, and difficulty translating military skills and experiences into civilian job qualifications can make it difficult for these women to find and maintain employment. This is where entrepreneurship training comes in — providing women with the skills, resources, and support they need to start and grow their own businesses.
Build a career that is flexible, portable, and can be managed from anywhere in the world
This is particularly important for women in the military, who may face frequent moves and deployments that make it difficult to maintain traditional employment. By starting an online business, women can build a career that is not tied to a specific location, allowing them to work from home, while traveling, or from wherever they happen to be stationed.
Generate additional income while serving in the military
Providing women with an additional source of income and helping them to build skills and experience can also be valuable when transitioning to civilian life. This can be particularly important for women who may be supporting their families while their spouses are deployed or for women who are facing financial challenges.
Gain more control over the future
By building a career on their own terms can be particularly valuable for women who have faced discrimination or other challenges in the workforce. By starting their own businesses, women can create opportunities for themselves and others in their communities, generating economic growth and building a stronger, more vibrant society.
Help transition to a new civilian career after the military
Women veterans often face unique challenges when it comes to finding employment, including difficulties translating their military skills and experiences into civilian job qualifications. By providing women veterans with the skills and resources they need to start their own businesses, we can help them build a new career on their own terms.
Low-Cost and Accessibility
It doesn’t require a physical storefront or expensive equipment. There are even online business models requiring no capital at all to start. Additionally, online businesses can be started relatively quickly, allowing women to get started building their business right away.
Global Audience
By building an online business, women can connect with customers all over the world, regardless of where they happen to be located.
More Control = Quality of Life
Rather than working for someone else and being subject to their schedule and demands, women can build their own businesses and work on their own terms. This can be particularly valuable for military spouses, who may need to be able to work around their spouse’s deployment schedule or other demands.

Recession and Pandemic-Proof
Even as tens of thousands of brick & mortar businesses shuttered for good as a result of the Covid-19 lockdowns, online businesses boomed — and they’re still booming! In fact, online businesses are forecast to reach $1.4 trillion in revenues by 2025.
Can be Operated Anywhere
perfect for active military and their working spouses who are frequently transferred. It’s also perfect for military spouses who often lose out on opportunities for advancement since employers are often reluctant to invest in employees they are aware will not be long-term.
Flexible Hours
There is no conflict with military duties or carving out time for picking up the kids from school or daycare, taking the kids to after-school activities or generally working around their schedules.
Can be started on the Side
Whether you’re looking for supplemental income, saving for retirement, kids college or the downpayment on a new home, it can all be done in your spare time. Grow your hobby business into a full-time job for when you leave the military. Many do so well with their online businesses that they can increase their full-time earnings even if they choose to stay part-time after leaving the service.
There are many online business models that require little or no money to start up and running an online business removes many barriers for women whether they are active service members, a military spouse or veteran.
An online business can be grown into ready-made full-time job waiting for the founder to step into in an expanded role. Owning an online business puts women veterans in the driver’s seat when it comes to controlling their career path and earning potential, plus there is no gender pay gap when you’re the one in charge.
Our courses are grounded in reality and business best practices and are designed to help founder’s get off on the right foot and to build a firm foundation for their startups. Individual and group coaching programs are also available for those wanting extra help and a leg up. We look forward to serving you through our Earn While You Serve series of entrepreneurial education and to put you on the road to your own online business!
